Noisy Differential V6S

I've been suffering a ever more noisy whine from the back of the car that goes up and down with the progress of the car rather than the engine revs. I suspect the differential. It was test driven today after a remap and the technician that took it out came back with the same view - I hadn't mentioned this at all to the garage.

Had anyone else had problems with the diff?

Quite a few on here have had replacement diffs often as a result of poor work during fitment of new diff seals by the stealers.
Mine went in about a year ago for diff seals and came back with a really noisy diff. Replaced under warranty.
