I find that the instrument backlight is very dull. There does not seem to be much difference in luminescence when turning the rotary switch from dull to bright. Has anyone else noticed this or do I have a problem with the switch. I was thinking of changing the bulbs to something brighter. Has anyone pulled out the instruments :o or knows how to access the bulbs

Chicb,
I work in the car industry and whilst no expert, I know you don't just pull out an IP and change the bulbs like you would on the back of a head-light.
Can't help solve your issue but think it may be a dealer diagnosis

I would actually say the opposite and its too bright especially the head unit, I have mine turned all the way down on the little turn switch near right knee.

Not sure if it's the same for the F-Type but on the XE, the rotary knob only changes the intensity at night.
During the day it doesn't alter anything.
Probably comes from the same box of wires in the factory as a lot of the other models do.

Might be the rotary switch that's not working properly on mine, as if I sit in my garage with no lights on & its pitch dark, there is hardly any difference whether the switch is fully rotated up or down. I like a bright head unit

I decided to test mine yesterday.
As Phil said above... only seems to make a difference at night. Mine goes from very bright (which I like) to very dull.

I thought mine wasn’t working until I realised there a few seconds delay before any adjustment takes effect.
