Screenshot from the "health check video" mine from last week, I think that counts as pretty corroded!

MY 2014 Dealer looking to replace through Jaguar. Will report back on progress.

A quick update to my situation - rear braces replaced this morning, the work only took a few hours at my dealer of choice, they also serviced the rear diff at the same time.

In summary, I am happy with the outcome. However having rust free rear x-braces does highlight just how horrible looking the rest of the underside looks.

Whilst it is all cosmetic, it's shocking that Jaguar think it's okay for a prestige vehicle to look like this in just 4 years. The budget S.Korean manufacturers don't even have this problem.

Help needed!
I had my F Type serviced at a dealership about 6 weeks ago. I asked them to check the cross braces for corrosion and explained about SSM74031. After the service I was informed that there was corrosion and that they had sent a report to Jaguar for approval to carry out the replacement work. They said they would be in touch as soon as they had a reply from Jaguar. So last week I decided to chase it up. The dealer now can't find having sent a report to Jaguar and they can't find the photographic evidence to show the corrosion! So about 5 phone calls later (despite getting assurances they would call me back) they now tell me that SSM74031 has completely disappeared from the Jaguar system and isn't there any more. Can anyone in the know cast any light on this.
Thanks for your help.
Mike

It has disappeared from Topix.

Mine was in for 2nd service a few weeks back and is booked in early July for replacement cross brace as I was told parts were on back order. Um.....

That's a real concern.
Mine is in for a service 4th July and I was going to take this up with the dealer.

Mine is booked in for June 5th to be done. Raised it at the service in March, immediately agreed it needed attention, took it in in April and then the parts were on back order. I am told they now have the parts.

That is worrying I was going to get this done on mine next service.

After I had mine replaced I sprayed everything with this (not on the exhaust or brakes obviously). 1 can aerosol was enough.

I figured it might help and it definitely makes the underside look nicer.

Mine went in for its service today at Matford Exeter. My first time there and cannot recommend them enough. Super service and a wonderful facility.
I had asked for the cross brace to be checked when I booked the car in. They have replaced a few already.
Result is not good though......they fully agree that the cross brace needs replacing but as others have said the SSM has disappeared.
Previously they would have just booked the car in for the work and submitted the photos and documents and would have been sure of a confirmation to carry out the work.
Now though, as there is no SSM they will have to go to Jaguar and try to get approval under the corrosion guarantee, but didn't seem overly confident.
Full of apologies and sympathy that if I had taken it in 2 months earlier it would have been done, their exact comment was that this was extremely unfair and hope that Jaguar will agree to the work. Mine is still under extended warranty.
Do not know what I will do if Jaguar refuse, but I will stay optimistic for now.
