Stu, Possibly the same as Porsche with IMS bearings. Only hear about the ones that fail, which makes you paranoid waiting on yours failing. Hope its a cheap fix

Well got the car back today, seems cured and possibly better than before. Hoorah!!!

A point to all who suggested Injector!!!

Strangely they reckoned they checked out ok on oscilloscope test, only after it running fine and starting missing again, they pulled plugs and one was black so they swapped that one cyl injector and bingo no miss and eml gone.

Ended up with a chemical clean of deposits on inlet valves in situ as a lot of carbon build up apparently, oil and filter change. full set of plugs and of course a bill for that stuff the 3rd party warranty didn't cover!

Plus side is if it had been the Porsche I got rid off it would have been a lot more!!

Glad it’s sorted!

I’m fortunate I got a full set under warranty, I wonder if the old ones went to a specialist to flow test and be cleaned/serviced wether they could be rectified or are genuinely knackered?

Also why do they fail? I recall seeing a post suggesting the fuel pumps are possibly underpowered so could this be why they prematurely fail???

Spoke to soon didn’t I 🙁
EML came on day after I got it back ! Bought a cheap code reader off Amazon came next day, 2 codes , P0420 cat system efficiency below threshold Bank 1, P0496 evaporative emission system high purge flow.
Guess which bank had duff injector? Bank 1.
Cleared codes and been out in it today, ok for about 20 miles and 3-4 start ups and EML has now reappeared , one code now , P0420 Cat bank 1 , looks like its back to garage once they reopen in New Year.
With my luck it’ll be the Cat itself not a sensor fault!

I would be checking the 02 sensors and wiring since u have had the exhaust changes its poss the wiribg has been damaged or the sensors themselves
Ir even a exhaust leak caused when the swap was done

Booked back into Indie again next week for further investigations , curiously seems to drive fine even though obviously not, garages says ok to continue using it.

Just had the lumpy idle/eml light on problem. Car is 2 years old, 7,700 miles - I have had it from new. Been in garage for 11 days now - latest info is that they have diagnosed a faulty injector - coming Monday. Anyone know how big a job this is to change?

Straight forward providing it doesn’t break and get stuck in head
