Passenger window fault
Hi to everyone and happy new year , not so happy for me my local jaguar dealers have had my f type for 6 weeks to sort the window fault which is intermittent, when I unlock the car and open passenger door the window doesn’t always drop and I can’t shut door unless I turn ignition on and put window down with switch , I’m just wondering if anyone else had this problem as I’m having a nightmare with roger young jaguar/Land Rover as warranty said they will cover it and now will only pay 2 hours the bill is around £5,000 so far and still not fixed , they say they need another 8hrs work to find fault a fit new bits to replace the very same bits they have already done probably be over £7k Any help would be appreciated thanks Paul

Clearly this is a ridiculous situation to have such a large potential bill, no resolution and some sort of warranty cap
My advise is to forget the warranty and just point out to the dealer that the fault is covered by consumer credit law (Normally Consumer Rights Act)and given it's less than 3 months it is presumed to be pre-existing fault with onus on dealer to prove otherwise (which they can't). As such the dealer is fully responsible for the total amount of the repair. That's the end of that..
I'm not a lawyer but in banking, so you should seek advice or Google and consider how you paid (credit card, leased, etc. as other laws are applicable too)
BTW I did exactly this with my exhaust where the wording of the warranty could have excluded it, but once I raised the CC law point £1,600 of back box plus labour was all sorted

I had a similar situation when I bought my 3-year old 2010 XKR - after 4 months I started getting "park brake not available" errors, and a low fuel warning (on one occasion as I was leaving the petrol station having brimmed the tank!). I took it back to the selling dealer who diagnosed a "wiring fault" that required the back axle to be dropped for access - a 6 hour job - and that it wasn't covered by the warranty. I pointed out that as it would be deemed a pre-existing fault they would have to fix it anyway and lo! - the warranty magically covered it. Of course, when I got the car back it was crabbing really badly so had to pay £60 to have the back wheels realigned at a local specialist.

I've had some intermittent door lock issues and a roof latch issue. neither Grange nor Lancaster Jag tried to charge me for investigation time (on my 2014 v6s, not even bought from them), and a quick call to Jag customer services and jag covered half of the parts/fitting cost that warranty didn't. Your experience sounds terrible, sending sympathy and definitely get onto Jag customer services, they were very easy to deal with in my experience.
