I don't think it's actual rust, as rust won't go away after driving. It could be quick oxidation of the brake pad compound.
Yes it’s rust, albeit ultra thin surface layer that is brushed off with a few of revs of the disk.

Used to get this on my 911, Porsche's reason was they use high carbon content iron for the disc's hence more rust, Snake oil and all that!
Think with any performance car the discs are bigger and the wheels tend to have larger openings between the spokes so its more noticeable than on a Fiesta or similar, drive it after washing to dry and remove it from discs is the trick before putting it away again.

I wouldn't worry about the bronzing at washing. My car stands still for days..

And I can see from the kitchen straight into the wheels and discs : they stay shiny for days, even in rain.
Rust kicks in after 4 odd days, but just slight braking cleans it off again.. :P

"Bronzing" sounds so much better than "rusting"! :D
Mine also stay shiny during its "no-move" days.

All cars do this - my BMW's, my Mercedes, my Ford...it's not rust as such and as others have said, it is nothing to worry about.
