I have the Pearl white cab. Everytime I wash it the rear end i.e bumper is very dirty & sooty. Today was washing 1st off with gentle lance at distance with shampoo. Most of the car just had usual grime but the back bumper, you could see the black dirt running down the car. Not a complaint as with 4 great exhausts chucking lots out & maybe the aero dynamics of the car cause this. Has anyone else noticed this. Don,t think the car is too rich as the consumption figures have gone up to 22.5 mpg over the last 300 miles of medium driving with lots of dynamic spirited blasts to 60'ish. ????

Mine gets filthy at the back, too, I think the aero channels the muck there from under the wheels.
As to running rich, considering the engine size, I think the fuel consumption (or lack thereof) is amazing! When I traded in my 5 litre XKR I found I'd downsized to a smaller, more economical car! :)

Brilliant so my car is normal. Phew. A few mates used to run Subaru wrx & I think they only got low 20's to the gallon so yeh not bad. Did show 25.4 after a run to lake district on a 250 mile run 2 weeks ago but was driving miss daisy most of the time.

That's good. Better than jag claim. So at least we don't get these silly figures shown & then never achieve them. The Evoque 2.0 ingenium diesel we had showed that extra urban was something like 62. Best we ever got over a 2000 mile test was 44.

That's more an issue with the test procedure, not the manufacturers. Unless they tweak their cars for test, of course, and no reputable company would do that, right? ;)

@steviegtr

The black dusty deposits on the rear is mainly from the brakes.
You have a V8, so might be some rubber too πŸ˜ƒ
You don't get it with quality replacement pads.... So nothing to worry about.

So the Jaguar pads are crap then.

One of the big gripes I've got with my F Type is the amount of brake dust on the wheels after only a few miles. I'm not a heavy braker (slows you down too much!) and I usually get monster miles out of pads and discs. Also I notice the front discs are developing a rough fine scoring. As a bit of a measure against mucky wheels, I am now using Wonder Wheels Wheel Sealant every few weeks, and it does work.
Oddly, my wife's F Pace keeps it's wheels very clean and she's a heavier braker than me.

Very soft and dusty as you're finding out.

The small amount of aero that the F has, sucks it from the wheels and funnels it up the arse end. You'lle find it accumulates in the boot lid hand holds too if it's a 'vert.

Wouldn't say the pads are crap though, certainly don't fade at track temps.
