Using USB for Music

Hi All,

i have all my music stored on USB's.

These work fine in my other vehicles - no issues with a good interface etc

But the Jag is awful - if i have been listening to music via the USB then when i next use the car it inevitably locks up the media icon on the dashboard and nothing i do can reset it. (have to take USB out / restart car and then not always does it reset but eventually does)

as said my USB's work fine in other vehicles including a 2016 evoque

PS i drive a 2017 SVR

anyone else have the same issue/is there a software update that fixes this?

Mine works fine too. My ipod died so I copied my itunes lib onto usb stick. The only issue I have is that some of the album artwork doesn't load.

Jags are very sensitive to the genre of music they will play...Bach, Beethoven no problem.

Trash, Rap, Grime, Grunge and non English versions of English music will not play and result in the aforementioned icon of disproval:-)

My MY18 had no problems on the few occasions I've used my USB stick, but I mainly listen to the speakers at the back of the car.

Have one in car from day 1. 2017. works perfectly. Try another stick some are not too good. Never altered the format from fat 32. Just plug & play. I have something like 6to 700 songs on it. I assume you have used the MP3 format. Some say the bitrate needs to be lower the 300 to work properly.

Hmmm

so the gremlins get worse with media centre

now the radio won't work in the media centre (only in control app and iphone music through bluetooth)

me thinks this is a warranty issue that needs sorting by dealership - ah well

I have the MY15 and the USB works flawless.

I know there is a lot of complains regarding the infotainment system in the F-type, and specially the oldest version (which I have with the 770 w Meridian system), but I am very happy with mine.

Never had any problems, sound quality is great, functionality is good and easy to use, and more than good enough for a sportscar.

Yes - the responsivnes is a bit slow, but I have gotten used to it, and it is no big deal in my oppinion.

Booked in for a warranty check on 1st July along with a software upgrade - hopefully that will cure the gremlins.

Radio started working again!! but fairly confident i can "break" it again for 1st July

The USB in mine is really flakey. Sometimes it plays flawlessly and then the next time I select USB it doesn't recognise that there is any music files on the USB.

Sandisk 8gb, formatted to Fat32. Works fine with no issues in other cars, just the Jag seems to take exception?

Car is P300R, MY 2019.
