Hello,

Does anyone have any suggestion on custom or OEM exhaust. Don't get my wrong my V8 AWD R sounds great. Its just before this I had a RS6 with a milltek exhaust and it simply made you laugh with all the different pops, bangs, grumbles it did. I've looked at Quicksilver and like the sounds that makes as it just gives it more volume, but don't like the fact its not switchable.

Thank you

Folks on the US forum rave about VAP exhausts.

If you like the sound of your standard system but just want it louder then 200 cell cats are the way to go. Not cheap but makes it louder overall.

Would the 200 cell give you more over run, that was what I liked on my Rs6

Cannot answer that but if you ring David Appleby he will tell you everything there is to know about the whole exhaust system. Sorry that is David Appleby engineering.

Larini are now doing a valved exhaust for the V8:

I've got one on mine, can safely say its louder and the pops and bangs even louder!

VAP is my recommendation. My Valvetronic was fitted by David Appleby, V6 version. No regrets, a bit louder, a bit more bark but not too excessive, plenty more pops on the overrun and still switchable.

Following.

It will be a long time before I’m out of warranty but those VAP 200 cell cats look superb and in theory should sound excellent.

Uses same factory controls for the valves? I'm definitely interested in getting this!
