Not wanting to rub salt in wounds, but I did the map update 2 weeks ago with no issues.

I had to start mine manually from the menus as it didnt detect the insertion, but it took over 1/2 hour and my journey was finished, while I was waiting on the drive I stupidly tried selecting audio, it bombed out of the update and now I have no maps, and until I use the car I won't be retrying !

Done it before with no issues, but that completed before I finished

Dan_Veluwe and ianp .. May I ask what make of USB stick you guys used? Out of desparation I'll do as you suggest and order a new one, exactly the same as you used. Mine is a Kingston Technology DTSE9G2/64GB Data Traveler SE9 G2 64 GB USB 3.0.

Philskill ... You say you started yours manually. I tried again this morning to see if was missing something in being able to 'start it manually', but couldn't see how to do that. Please can you point me to what menu sequence you used?

Just come back from sitting in my car for 30 mins with the engine running to charge up the battery. Wish I had read this 35 minutes ago! I used a SanDisk 64GB Ultra Flair USB 3.0 (made in China is it will probably give me Covoid 19 now). The software automatically deleted the earlier version on the and had no problems with the download to the car. However, the upload from the Map Updater took nearly two hours.

When I updated my map I went for a tour of Wales. The update took most of it! I did stop twice, the update continued on restart.
