Having reluctantly decided to put my 2016 V6s Coupe away for an unforeseeable length of time I have installed a Ctek mxs05 charger and permanent socket in the boot.
The various threads on the forum about the positioning of the socket and its connection were very useful.
I used the jaguar Topix connection pictogram.

I connected the charger without activating the recon mode and after three days it reached and remained at level 6 -there are 7.

I left it for another 2 days and it remained on 6.

I contacted Ctek who advised that my battery may be suffering from "Conductance", whatever that may be - so will not reach 7.
In the meantime, I have set the mode to include recon and wait to see the outcome.

ALL advice, help, comment, etc, are most welcome.

It's only a guide, not an accurate measuring instrument.
So long as more than 4 lights are lit, you're good to go.
Remember you Don not need to leave the ctek on 24hr.
Once a week overnight is more than enough to keep AGM batteries healthy.

You did set it for AGM mode? I have no idea if that makes any difference. I would expect it to get to the green 7 light, so maybe the battery is getting tired, wait and see what effect the recon has. Good luck!

Can't remember exactly how long it took for light 7 to illuminate, but took a couple of weeks for light 8 to come on. Been on since Oct/Nov. Ctek on permanently & when it is used car starts first push of the button. Well it has in previous years, not tried it this year.

Light 7 is the green one that denotes the battery is fully charged. Light 8 comes on only if the battery voltage drops and the charging cycle restarts.

Thank you all.
I will wait another day or two for the green (no7) to come on.
The battery appeared to be fine before I fitted the charger as the car always started first press of the button...so attaching the charger was just meant to be a belt and braces affair whilst in the garage on enforced lockdown.

On a previous XKR I was surprised at how long it took to show fully charged, in spite of the battery seeming to be fine - no issues starting, etc. If it never reaches 7 it could mean the battery is on its way out.

Rate of charge decreases significantly as state of charge reaches 100%, (think of an asymptote line), or a y=-(X)^2 graph (reverse exponential)

That's why it takes so long to "fully charge" the large battery

Yes, I am a nerd :)

I reset the mode on the charger to AGM and RECON - 24 hours later the Green Light (No7) came on.
It is worth noting though that the Brightness of the Green light is very much LESS than the Orange 1 to 6 such that in bright light you may not see that it is lit.
