Just to update everyone on my situation, my supercharger has been replaced under (non jaguar) warranty. Collecting the car today hopefully.

I bought the car from a Volvo dealer, so it's actually a Volvo warranty which apparently is very good. Expires in Jan 21, so see what else comes up in that time.

Agreed, especially given there's a repair kit available just replacing the snout... But who was I to tell them! 😁

So new supercharger is on and performing well. I replaced all the water pipes underneath the 'charger for peace of mind. In fact, there were signs of a small leak.

The engine rattle at idle or low rpm has 100% gone when, there's still slight clonk when you shut the engine down, but nothing like what it was.

I'm perplexed. Why would something like a supercharger fail ? These are quite robust right ?

Mine is now in the local dealership for what I think is the same issue, I passed on the Tech Bulletin and pointed to this forum page. They were not that interested on the service desk and asked what time I wanted the car back today!! I advised they might want to check it out before making that assumption. Low and behold they haven't phoned me to pick it up so will ring them tomorrow to see what they found

Most dealers always assume they know better than knowledgeable folk on forums. Not the only thing they get wrong, sadly.
