Clonk after engine shutdown

Hi all,

About 3-4 seconds after turning engine off I get a clonk from the front of the engine.

Otherwise the engine runs fine with no other issues.

Any ideas?

It's due a service on 20 April, (presuming it still goes ahead) and the Jaguar extended warranty expires 27 April.

Just to eliminate the obvious, do you set the EPB and select P before switching off?

Yes, EPB set and P selected.

There are a few relays that shut off AFTER the ignition is off ≈ 3 secs.

Get an assistant to start and stop the engine whilst the bonnet is raised and see if it is any louder around the right hand side of the engine.

Will report back tomorrow, but my current thought is that it is more central at the front.

I have read on one of the forums (could be this one) that what you are hearing is a symptom of a worn drive assembly of the supercharger, could be that.
340 coupe auto 2016MY, ammonite/corris grey, red performance heated seats, pano roof, 20" turbine wheels, switchable active exhaust, front & rear parking sensors, rear camera.

Thanks, any other thoughts on this one as I haven't read anything on here. Anyone with similar experience. The car has only done 20,000 miles.

I have read on one of the forums (could be this one) that what you are hearing is a symptom of a worn drive assembly of the supercharger, could be that.

You are correct... Worn couplings between the SC snout and the vortex's drive a prone to fault, however this manifests in a rattle at low idle, and would also dissappear immediately the engine is switched off as the pulleys are no longer turning...OP has this 3~4 secs after.

Checked where noise seems to be coming from. Sounds more central at the fron, around tthe front of the engine or radiator area.
Also checked with and without AirCon on and get the same clonk 3-4 secs after engine stop whether AirCon on or not.
