Hi guys, has anyone out there fitted a set of lowering springs from David Appleby Engineering I've always used H&R on all my previous cars and wondered what the DAE springs were like. Any info would be greatly appreciated

If you're referring to the VAP springs, folks on the US forum seem to like them (loads of threads about them over there). One guy found that they weren't quite right for his V8 R RWD, but VAP sorted him out with the right ones. And apparently they improve the ride, too.

Hello Rob?

My car has a set of VAP Lowering Springs. Supplied & fitted by DAE. Wouldn’t take my car anywhere else for modification work. They are the VAP authorised distributor in the UK & are completely knowledgeable with F-Types & VAP products...

Drop is 22mm which is not too drastic, but noticeable. They also took car offsite to have alignment/camber etc checked adjusted at a specialist. Looks & rolls perfectly. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough 👍

Also had 15mm H&R Wheel Spacers fitted at same time. Completes the look.

Absolutely no issues with ride quality, handling. If anything it sharpens it up slightly.

All spring/spacers/alignment work cost £1700.00

I fitted H&R springs on my V8S convertible and Eibach 15mm spacers at the same time then I had the alignment done on the Hunter 4 wheel alignment system. I know the drop is slightly more than the VAP but I have no issues at all. And the car sits perfectly. The springs are pretty straight forward to fit.

That looks great..

How did the price break down?

Springs sets seem to be £300-£400.....Alignment is £80-£100

Hi guys thanks again for the advise, much appreciated. I know that a lot of people frown at the idea of spacers but I quite like the look with the wheels filling the arches a little more

Hi Darren

Your lowered car looks fabulous particularly the way the wheels really fill out the arches

I’d love to do similar to my 2019 340 convertible but wonder about any increase in insurance premium?

Kind regards

Darren, do the Cyclones have the correct cut outs on the back to allow for the wheel studs without modification when fitting 15mm spacers ?
