Airbag trim ring damage

The gloss black trim ring around the centre airbag in my F-type P300 steering wheel has got scratched. As far as I can determine the item is part of the airbag and is not available separately. I do not want to buy a new airbag! Any information on replacing or repairing this item most welcome. I’ve looked at the stick on rings on Amazon etc but they seem poor quality and might compromise the airbag operation.

I’d strongly advise against replacing with anything else that is stuck on or otherwise added. Should the airbag deploy the replacement part will potentially hit you at full speed in the face with horrible results.
