Thanks for confirming. Perhaps the OP's 2015 R is the same?

I understand that "the battery management system (BMS) manages the normal current distribution to the batteries to maintain them during normal driving. When the ignition is switched off however, the smaller stop/start battery is disconnected from the main supply circuit via a gateway module that constantly monitors the smaller battery's voltage."

Out of interest and not wanting to go off topic. When did they stop using a second battery ?
I have read of this on here before and never looked to see if i have one.

From what I've read, 2015 was the last year they used a second battery.

My MY16 car has one battery so your MY17 car should also have one battery.

The second battery is under the bonnet/hood, not in the boot/trunk. I learnt that last week!

Here's a photo of the trunk compartment showing the main and 2nd battery in this guy’s MY14 Convertible (USA).

Weird. Maybe it's the coupe that has the front mounted battery, since the convertible has no boot space anyway, so a little less won't make much difference!

Hi, could you confirm where the secondary (auxiliary) battery is located on your MY14 Coupe......is it in the boot or is it under the bonnet?

Any chance you could provide a photo of it?
