Good Evening All,

I was washing the car today and noticed a section of paint work. Drivers side rear panel next to the filler cap has gone lumpy. Its approx 9 inches long and 2/3inches wide. Random spots.

Anyone had anything similar? Car is 2013 V6S. I don't believe the car as ever had any repair work but can't be sure. I've owned it for a year now. Please see the attached picture.

Is this something that can be buffed or would this require a respray?

Afraid that looks like previous respray work to me, usually caused by some damp in the base layer.

They look like blisters/bubbles so presume a poor respray and/or moisture in thinners etc after a repair.

I note you also had issues with a second key not working at point of sale in August.

Did that get resolved? Did the car come with a warranty from the non Jaguar dealer you purchased it from?

Hi mate,

yes that got resolved thank god. Jaguar Garage sorted the key out and the independent garage i got the car from forked out the cost. The car did come with a 6 month warranty.

Looks like I'll have to have a proper spray done to that wing then.

Thanks for the reply. Will have to get in touch with a trusty bodywork specialist then!

If you can get an appointment I have used Bromsgrove Body Repairs (BBR) to do my Rangie Classic. Their respray work was perfect. Like most excellent service providers that have become very busy and expanded: https://bromsgrovebodyrepairs.co.uk. I asked them about a job recently and they were talking weeks not days.

Having sprayed a couple of cars now that looks like a factory defect to me. We looked at a salsa red coupe at Sytner BMW in Solihull few months ago - it had exactly the same defect - dealer reckoned it was not the first he had seen. Problems with thinners etc on resparys tend to show as orange peel not isolated blobs.

Good luck
