Evening guys,

Driving home in my V6S this evening and the amber check light came on after a few miles. It stayed on when I tried to restart it. No issues, drives and sounds perfectly normal.

I disconnected the battery and left for 20 minutes, but no difference.

I've got a bluetooth UniCarScan UCSI-2000 OBD-II adapter, I first need to find out if this is compatible with Jag's (use it on BMW), assuming it is, what software is best for an Android phone? Ideally free, but ok with paying for it, better than Jaguar's £150 diagnostic fee. Appears to be lots of free ones, but poor reviews and limited functionality.

Jaguar then usefully provide a list of codes and what they mean - https://www.jaguarwhiteplains.com/servi ... -light.htm

Appreciate any help.

Graeme

Looks like it's a no go with that OBD reader, it's specific to BMW.

I bought a cheap one on ebay and worked great. Only issue is the dealer was not happy to take my “home diagnosis” as factual when i asked them for help... they said “we can do a diagnosis three weeks on tuesday and then order any parts needed”... not impressed!

Thanks. Do you have a link?

Does it allow you to reset error codes?

I've dropped it off at my local specialist who were very accommodating, but would be good to have something in he future.

Thankfully just a O2 sensor, but not come back on since the error codes were reset, 20 miles on.

Mght light came on and off for a while... usually came on after the wife drove the car... something about the sensor not getting hot enough?!? Not something i struggled with - but eventually old age caught up with it...

Thanks, just ordered one up. Good to have.

Won't be of any use now, but i believe the trick is to remove the offending O2 sensor and get the part number and order from Bosch or other supplier rather than going through Jaguar and it's 1/3 price.
