Only noticed this as was a lot of rust prior to cleaning.
Looks like the drivers side door hinge pin has been installed at factory the wrong way up. Gravity would say the the big end on top surely?
Anyone confirm?

So upside down is normal? That’s crazy as could fall out, not to mention it rusts.
Oh well think I’ll stick a little plastic cover over to hide rust.

Cheers

You're probably the first person who has ever noticed it. If it could fall out surely the forums would be full of posts about doors falling off.

If it bothers you, knock it out and put it back in the other way (although I suspect you'll have a hell of job doing that). The weight of the door probably pulls that attached lever bit enough that it has no chance of ever coming out.

Only noticed as the pin and most of the surrounding surface was covered in rust....not a good look on a premium car.
Even after cleaning surround it’s still rusty. Paint, cover or reverse?

Mines the same, touch of rust converter then a touch of paint...no problem.

Sorted! 2 mins and number plate cap
Bit anal but annoying looking at rust and there will always someone who’ll take delight in pointing out your shiny new car has rust
