Hello

Jaguar F Type S 5.0, 2014 - 40k miles

Dull whining at low RPM when pulling off and a sense of inertia/dragging

Evidence of a slight drip along the edge of the cover (red arrow on below library image)

I understand the supercharger bearing may be replacement or rebuilding, does anyone have experience with DIY or removing it and being rebuilt by :

Any ideas? Cheers

Do you get the sense of inertia/dragging when you're in dynamic mode and S? The gearbox may be "lazy" in downshifting if you've been driving moderately. Just to eliminate one remote possibility.

I'm not entirely sure, I'm new to the car but there's definitely something up with the supercharger in my opinion

I you do suspect the snout coupler or supercharger, then some investigatory work should really be done first...

Take off the serpantine drive belt and set it aside, so it cannot get tangled. Turn and pull the pulley wheel by hand and see if there's any play in any direction. Whilst turning, is there any noise?

Flash up the engine and see if it still whines with the belt still off.

Very simple tools, lots of patience and an hour of time...and new knuckles...it's tight in there!
