Bit of advice if possible
Can anyone tell me if the parking electric parking brake can be left off when the car is locked up?
I ask this because I lay my cars up over the winter period and don’t want the pads sticking to the discs
Thanks in advance
Dave

Yes it can, the same as a mechanical handbrake. When my car is parked in my garage I only put the gearbox in park and leave the handbrake disengaged.

Check the manual because there is a specific procedure for it otherwise it'll come on automatically after the car is locked.

Yep. Although I think it depends on the model year.

Early cars don't reapply the parking brake when the vehicle is locked, whereas the later cars do (hold the parking brake button down/off just before the ignition is switched off to override it).
