The 'WASHER FLUID LOW' message or illumination of the indicator is triggered by the rear washer fluid reservoir level sensor.

The rear washer fluid reservoir transfer pump will transfer the washer fluid when it receives a signal from the front washer fluid reservoir level sensor (i.e. when the front washer fluid level reduces to approx 1 litre) and continues until a signal is received confirming the front washer fluid level is full. This is why it’s helpful if a fault is identified with the front sensor (which may or may not be the case here).

As I mentioned earlier, when a 'WASHER FLUID LOW' message appears in the Instrument Cluster's message centre, the first display of this message, or illumination of the indicator, is accompanied by a 'chime' sound to alert the driver to the low fluid level.......I’ve asked the OP if he’s noticed this at all?

Chances are that it's the rear washer fluid reservoir 'Non return valve' that's causing the issue but before removing the rear bumper cover to get at it, it could be worth having a diagnostic check to see if this picks up a fault with the front washer fluid reservoir level sensor or anything else?

Not sure I am brave enough to take rear bumper off. I don’t mind doing mechanical items like discs and pads etc. I think I need to find friendly independent near me.

No probs 👍

Before the bumper is taken off, it could be worth you getting a diagnostic check to see if it picks up a fault with the front washer fluid reservoir low level sensor? If so, it may be the case that the rear bumper cover doesn’t need removing?

However, when a low washer fluid level signal is transmitted to the Instrument Cluster (IC), a 'WASHER FLUID LOW' message is displayed in the IC's message centre. The first display of this message, or illumination of the indicator, is accompanied by a 'chime' sound to alert the driver to the low fluid level. Have you noticed this at all?

I've attached the TOPIx document ‘F-Type (X152) Bumpers’ which show the bumper covers removal and installation.

Not sure if you have the Coupe or Convertible so I’ve included info for both?

REAR BUMPER COVER (COUPE) - REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (Pages 45-58)
REAR BUMPER COVER (FOLDING TOP) - REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (Pages 74-90)

You can check for an Independent Jaguar Specialist near you here https://the-jaguar-specialist-register.com/ Just enter your postcode then click on the ‘Search’ box.
Thanks for the info appreciate all of the documents. Looks like a couple of specialist near me which is good news.

Hope you get it sorted.

Would be interesting to know the cause of the issue and how it was fixed?

Good luck with the independent, always good to find someone that you can trust with your car.

Yes be very interested what the final cause is determined to be.

I got the impression this is leaking out while parked up on a slope with the rear higher than the front, so assume this is not to do with the pumps and transfer system, but with water syphoning out through the air bleed hole in the front tank when the rear tank is higher than it physically. If the cars is off when it leaks then the pumps should not be running.

Still worth seeing if any faults logged of course, incase there is a faulty pump or something wrong with the pumping system that could cause the water to leak though from the rear.

Hi Darren
You've not had the car a month yet. Or should I say MY car!! I would ask Ashley Nickells, where you bought it, to look at it or at least ask them who to take it to. Even if you didn't get a warranty I think we can safely assume the fault existed before you bought the car, so the dealer will be liable and should pay. From what I hear about Ashley Nickells they are one of the nicest companies in the business so will probably not hesitate to help you.
Best of luck.

Totally agree with this. Any fault will be deemed to be pre-existing in the first 6 months and the seller will have to resolve at their cost. They may point out warranties and exclusions, to wriggle, but it's irrelevant as this is clearly enshrined responsibility in consumer law
While researching and considering bumper cover removal may be interesting I wouldn't spend time on it and just ask the seller to fix it

After reading this thread, I checked my handbook and the car.
I only have a filling position for windshield washer in the trunk.
Is the front tank a separate holding tank with a dedicated filling position, or simply a small in line sealed unit?

Hi CJSJAG Front is a sealed tank filled automatically from the rear tank as needed.

I had thought about phoning Ashley Nickells. My challenge it’s a 3 plus hour round trip. So loose best part of a day dropping car off and picking back up. I will call them and see if they will pick the bill up for a local garage to me to repair. If they won’t I will probably go to independent locally. Not made of money but very time short☹️
