I'm still struggling with getting used to the F Types headlights.

In the photo, is it normal for the headlight beam to fall to abruptly to darkness like this ....and at such a short distance ?

I am constantly switching my high beam on because it doesn't feel safe not being able to see the road beyond (I am guessing) 20 meters ahead. I have to do this even in built up areas with street lighting.

Feels particularly dangerous on the motorway when high beam is not an option.

I mentioned this when I took the car back to the dealer around July time for MOT and service and they said that any issue with the headlight beam would have been picked up on the MOT. Haven't been out in the dark much since but with the shorter days I am noticing it more now.

Is this a feature of the FTypes' headlight design or does this not look right ?

Its a 2018 P380 by the way.

Malbec thanks for that, but looking at the photo would you say yours is similar...or not at all ?

Does it have LED lights?
Do they auto level (dance) up/down when you switch them on?

If I had any fuel I would nip down the track and take a sample picture of mine!

My beams certainly do not cut off like yours.
From a quick internet check it seems low beams should cut off at 200ft maximum.
If you Google, there are a bunch of articles showing how to set your headlights correctly.

Yes identical. You have not put any details of your car in your signature. I see that you have led lights. So not the same as mine.

You don't have a signature so was just checking the type of lights you have.

I had the offside light replaced at about 15 months old in mine because it stopped doing the dance at startup and was stuck "pointing down" so was just wondering.

Once I find fuel I'll take a sample picture of mine to cross reference.

OK thanks, haven't figured out how to do signature yet, but as I say its a 2018 P380.

I'm wondering if the 'abruptness' that it goes from light to dark is just because they are maybe falling short....so if they were pointed higher to the horizon there would be a more smooth transition from dark to light (if that makes any sense).

By the way, I should add that those LED lights were brand new fitted by dealer when I bought the car earlier this year, and this issue I have seems to have been there right from the start...just haven't been driving in the dark much.
