After a lovely 2 week 2200 mile tour of Germany and Austria, I now need to change the supercharger coupler. It has got a lot noisier since the trip. The noise in the clip is when the engine is cold, it is much quieter when warm and the car drives perfectly with no warnings.

Has anyone got a detailed ‘how to’ for this job?

Have you proven its the supercharger making the noise by starting the engine with the superchanger belt removed?

here's the guide I used...

Mine has made that noise since new 6 years ago!

It disappears when warm, typically as water temp reaches normal halfway mark. Which is less noticeable in the summer simply because it warms up quicker.

Now 44,000 miles in and exactly the same.

No I haven’t done that yet. I pretty sure it is the coupler, as it quietens down when warm. However looking through the contents of that link, there is quite a lot to do, so I might as well go for the whole sc remove and replace the coolant pipes as well.

Yes, I have had the noise for quite a while, but I sense it’s got louder recently. Mine is on 41000 miles. I like the fact that the document linked also deals with coolant pipe issues and sc oil change, which might be a good thing to do all at the same time.
