Key will not work after battery replacement.

Hi all,

An update regarding my second key issue (wouldn't work at all). I had a local auto-electrician out this morning and after about 15 minutes he has reprogrammed me a new second key! £280 instead of £955 is a win in my book.

However! Does this mean that my car (14 plate - 15728) is missing software updates perhaps, to lock down the ODB port to read-only (FDSH so would expect not), or have these auto-electrician just got smarter and better equipment? Or is it on the cusp of getting them and just fell the side of not?
