Hi all,
I'm a new F-Type owner, having bought a MY20 P340 through the approved used scheme.
I recently had the following issue: "Patrol found the following fault code/s:System : Engine control - 2S3 / Engine management Motronic MED 17.8P0341 - Camshaft position sensor (bank 1) (A). Error Message : Malfunction.P0342 - Camshaft position sensor (bank 1) (A). Error Message : Malfunction."
This is the second EML in 500 miles (first was a faulty fuel injector).
I'm still in my grace period and can request a full refund of the vehicle.
Are there any thoughts on this being serious? Or is the feeling that since it's in warranty I should just accept the main dealer support and keep the vehicle?
Cheers
Persistent EML Issues
I would take it back to the dealer and state they need to check the camshaft sensor etc.
From the Jag service manual, you are right it is the position that is erroring, the fact that it is intermittant could be faulty sensors. see blow:
Don't let this put you off, if you are covered you are covered and any warranty after successful completion needs to be recorded as such.
