Centre air vent speaker

This may have been covered before so I apologise if it has. I've just removed my central vent to fis a sticking problem, on removing the speaker cover I found that I don't have a speaker in place, is this a speaker that I can just add to my system without the need for additional work?

The speaker you’re referring to is for surround sound and is fitted to vehicles with the Meridian High Premium Sound System. Mine doesn’t have the speaker either but I’m not concerned about it. Have a read through this link viewtopic.php?p=60337#p60337 which includes the following post plus further information....

The higher quality centre dash speaker is AW93-18808-EC. I have my doubts if you will get any sound out of it just by plugging one in with your basic system. Also be warned, it sounds bright and coloured and I don't use mine, I prefer the stereo setting rather than surround which brings in that speaker. I'd forget it if I were you.
