Hi, every time I start my F-type I get this error appear on front of the dash at the bottom

Press OK to Clear

I drive and it just goes away, I have been into the menu option and can't see any errors

I went to my local jag dealership and they had no idea and booked me in for them to hook up the car check, but that isn't until 10th-October

Anyone got any ideas what I can do to try and understand what or why this error appears every time I start the car?

I think it is just the instruction to clear the warning about seatbelts? Mine does it too.

Our Mercedes has a similar thing that for some reason has to tell you which seatbelts are fastened and which aren't.

Yeah, just the seatbelt warning.

Normal. If you put your self belt on it will go green and will disappear after about 30 seconds or press ok to clear it straight away.

it gives the same error even with the seat belt on, it stays on for roughly 30seconds and then when I pull away it clears, or if I hit the OK button of course, I thought it was seat belts at first

I took it to Jag near me today and they couldn't understand it either, so they have booked me in (but that isn't till mid October), just worried that this is something bigger, I am hoping its just a software update that needs to happen which Jag will find out in October

It's not actually an error, just a message. ;)

Giving the OP the benefit of the doubt here. The car seats and seat belt buckles have sensors that get activated when the ignition is switched on. The dash then shows who is occupying a seat and if using their corresponding seat belt.

The F-type will continue to show this message as a reminder for about 30 seconds after car starts moving and in case either the driver or a passenger hasn't buckled up.

This is a clever system designed to let owners or their butlers park or manoeuvre their cars around the property (because all F-type owners are super rich šŸ˜‰) without forcing the driver to put the set belts on. My Hyundai Santa Fe is a pain. I got to buckle up to move it an inch. šŸ¤¦

If you continue to drive without putting the seat belt on, the car will start sounding an alarm that will last for about a minute or so.

If you don't want to see that message on the dash, just press OK as soon as you board the car and have your belts on. Simples.

Now the real question is: which dealership did you visit? Tell us so we can steer well clear!

The worst thing about this is that the Jag dealer didnā€™t understand a fairly basic dashboard message.

I bet if you read the manual itā€™s quite early on in the hundreds of pages.

Probably too busy refilling the coffee machine šŸ˜‰

Hi, when I was at the Jag dealership on Friday, he did say lets put our belts on to check and the error still came up, I have just been and tried it again and even put the passenger seat belt on so that both seats are green at the start and as per the attached image 2 green seats but the error still appears
