I fancy getting the above and moving away from BMW where the residual values are horrific
The car specs up to about 78k
Only thing is I've seen one that at a dealer for approx 65k on a 17 plate with 7k miles
On we buy any car it is valued at 44k !! Is this about right give or take 10% if so, it depreciates as hard as a BMW
Any views on this would be most welcome as the car itself is great, I'm just a little worried it will collapse in value
Cheers
Looking for a new/ex demo 400 in white
Hello .. and welcome to the forum
Forget we buy any car ... use GAPs as a good reference
for example I was a few days ago selling my 2018 model v6 coupe .. WBAC offered me £38k would you believe, HPI GAPS value was £45k !!
I then had yesterday 2 hard offers of £45k from 2 dealers then a offer for the asking price of £49k from a private buyer .. but at this point I had already decided to keep the car as I had arranged for a bigger car for my ill parents
So I am glad WBAC did not get their hands on my FType .. in some ways I think they feed of desperate people who need to sell their cars .. Mike Brewer has a new site that is better .... http://www.mikebrewerbuysyourcar.com/ca ... -approach/ they use the gaps database
The only good thing about WBAC is that you could use their estimates to haggle when purchasing or if you receive a low part ex from a dealer
which .. reminds me I must remove my advert from piston heads
regards

First year depreciation unless on something ultra rare/special/hyped will hit most brands 30-40% as far as trade values are concerned ...
I bought and sold mine through two separate specialist dealers ... and over the course of ownership for a little over a year pretty much returned what I paid for it ...
So I would ignore WBAC and save the ££ you can buying ex-demo and if you decide to pass on then contact a good specialist and minimise your depreciation ...
Good Luck finding your new toy ....

Storm Grey V6 coupe, fun, fast, popping and crackling with smiles all the way ... missed more than I expected!
1998 NSX 3.2 Targa manual
C43 AMG estate, lots of toys, like the F-Type but with 4 seats and far more stealthy but still with pops and crackles!

I adore my F-Type but reality tells me that BMW have lower depreciation than Jaguar, so if you are looking to escape horrific residual values don't go the Jaguar route!Lamboman wrote: ↑Sun Jul 23, 2017 2:08 pm I fancy getting the above and moving away from BMW where the residual values are horrific

As I said in my previous post I think it's too late to take your advice.
It looks like he bought one.
