part identify!

Hi All

How to describe this - does anybody know what the metal bar is actually called that goes across the car at the back that is under the exhaust, it's about two inched in diameter, and has two bolts on each side on the rear subframe

somehow mines taken a fearsome whack and is pretty bent out of shape

hmm, cheers for that, potentially 16 although the part im thinking of isn't part of the exhaust, it's looks more like a suspension brace, it goes on the outside of the exhaust but doesn't touch it. unless it's designed to protect the exhaust maybe

Looks like it’s been jacked up on it and bent, rather than ‘whacked’
Bet the suspension alignment is well out

could well of been i suppose, i'm due a service, i'll get it changed and a wheel alignment done

It's just called a bodyshell brace it's part 14 or 16 they are different subject to what car you have. https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.co ... nd/jaguar/
