I believe the engine sits a bit higher in the AWD to make room for the front drive stuff, so the bonnet needed more clearance.

Ah - I hadn’t thought of that - makes sense, I wonder if they changed the bonnet airbags to lift it further as well?

The bonnet is different on a awd, its got a bulge down the middle hence why the vents were moved.

The relocation of the bonnet vents "was functional and necessary to accommodate the front transfer case for the AWD models, which required a higher engine mounting and different hood design."

This is a serious problem everyone. My injector on Cylinder 3 failed (jammed open causing zero rail pressure) and the garage was unable to get it out to replace it. They said that this is a common problem and where the water ingress has cause very significant corrosion then the only way to get them out is to take the head off which costs £1,000s. The local 'thread wizzard' can't help and the fact that the injectors are part plastic and part metal means that they sheer off when pressure is applied.

Seized injectors can be removed without taking the head off.

Have a look at the links I provided here......

Sorry to hear about your issue. Failed injectors can be removed by specialist companies. Not sure your location but these Catterick/Yorkshire guys have a good reputation. They have worked on F-Types previously.
