Sometimes a small change in the price of the car throws it into a different category and insurers have different thresholds.

Or it may be the claims history for the 450 has a slightly higher average cost, due to higher parts prices for some newer components (headlamps etc). Also, there's probably more options to use used parts on the 550 than the 450, which some insurers do when carrying out repairs.

I have a Mustang Mach-e as my daily drive company car, the insurance on that is £900 for a year, which if exactly the same as my Jaguar insurance on the R so I don’t buy that as a statement

I lm looking at the Reims special addition V8 450 BHP and a V8R convertible 550bhp.

Insurance prices seem to be massively increased recently - just had my F-pace SVR renewal (no change in details) and price has gone from £830 last year to £1,730 this year!
Anyone else seen massive increases recently?

Try adding more named drivers - it worked for me!

My insurance went from £548 last year to around £1200. No points and no claims.

Mine was £404.59 for a 53 year old cad, fully comprehensive. I also own and drive a van for most of the week so that helps reduce the premium on the car

I responded earlier to this thread but I now have left LV on my home insurance where the contents only premium went up from £249 to £379. I renewed with Swinton at £154 for a greater liability too.
