Yes this does seem to be a fairly common issue. My impression though is that it mainly concerns cars that have been fed with dodgy fuel and subjected to too much dodgy weather.
My own approach to minimising the risks of this occurring is: always as good fuel as possible, always garaged, proper driving, proper timely maintenance and a bottle of injector cleaner with each annual service.
Failed injectors - 2017 F-Type
just had this happen on a 2020 p380 3 cylinders misfiring mileage only 5400 no one seems to know why
On the subject of "failed" injectors, does anyone know what it actually means? Coming from an Audi 2L turbo engine car (TT) which has loads of documented injector issues, these are mainly rooted in the injector design from Bosch. The injectors have a paper/plastic filter that usually brakes inside of the injector and clogs the outputs. There are companies that specialise in testing and rebuilding these Audi/Bosch injectors using a metal mesh filter that outlast the OEM design by a long mile.
The electrical part of those injectors hardly ever fail.
I only use Vpower and put in a bottle of Cataclean or STP twice a year (I do about 7K daily miles/year) although BK44 seems to be a favourite on the F-type U.S forum.

MY18 Manual P340 R-Dynamic RWD Coupe, Caldera Red on 19˝ Centrifuge wheels. Pzero. Mods: Reverse camera, interior/puddle lights and tinted windows.
Always excellent service from Tom and Adam.
Glad you got it resolved.
I had issues with injector failure not long after I got my MY14 V6 but fortunately they were covered under warranty.
It may well be that the original owner only used standard supermarket petrol with no additives.
I've always used 99 Ron Tesco Momentum as the cheapest of the premium options and I'm sure this contributes to longer injector life.
Not had a problem in the subsequent 45k miles.

Ouch. So what's the history of the car? How has it been driven, with what fuel, any injector cleaner ever added?john newby wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 2:01 pm just had this happen on a 2020 p380 3 cylinders misfiring mileage only 5400 no one seems to know why

Lots of people trying to offer help, suggestions, comments and asking questions in order to assist.
You have made the effort of joining the forum, and I get that lots of people join only to post issues, but that's three posts across two topics providing little information nor answers to any questions. Not sure what you are expecting, but Hi and hope you get it resolved.
