No single regret: the soundtrack is now at its best.
I will be fitting a remote controlled relay as other fellows have done.
Pleased to hear it worked well for you. Not sure why it didn't work on my V6S (P380). Will just have to keep the revs up to enjoy those pops n woofles :D
As ralph said, no need to pull it on our cars because we have full manual control of the valves with the button.

I don't quite get the nonsense with the automatic rev dependent closing of the valves overriding the manual control in some F-Types and am happy I don't have that issue.

So the switch just replicates what dynamic mode does? That makes the switch even more pointless than I almost think it is in mine. :?

Well, this is how it acts on my SVR...

Thanks Ralph1780 (and MajorTom), I didn't appreciate the P380 was different to other models, but explains why I didn't notice any difference 👍🏻

Does that mean software update H239 by Jaguar to quieten things down below 3500rpm didn't apply to P380s ?

Frankly no clue here, and don't know whether H239 had been installed on my P380... no contact with the dealer since 2 years (consecutive oil overfills and other aspects drove me away.

Don't know if it's actually something specific with the V6S/P380. If I recall correctly there were three different versions or stages of H239 and that the first versions made the car forget dynamic mode after startup and the last version was the one that actually affected how the valves behave... or something like that. Mine forgets dynamic after restart, or rather it shows that dynamic mode was selected last time the car was driven and switches to normal, but that's it - no valve closing nonsense. And I have no outstanding updates for my car.

As far as I know, I've only had the first "update" and dynamic is reset on restart and the valves open at 1500 rpm on the switch. Valves open all the time in dynamic.
