@Kdes.
I thought about that too : how expensive can a meter of profiled iron be..

Why not take it off and get is zinc plated and PVC-coated.. .. problem is it would have to stay on the carstand for some days
as the parts are treated...

@Davidd.

.. IS THERE A LAWYER IN THE HOUSE .. :mrgreen:

Maybe she/he can read up on the "guarantee on corrosion" the car has for 8/10/12 yrs..

Don't even know that..

Maybe it covers only the body. Then the discussion starts : what is part of the body.
You could argue : the construction that carries the engine, gearbox, wheels and occupants..

That its covered for rusting THROUGH.. ..until then, no dough..

what a waste of time and money, unless you grit blast the item to remove all the bits of rust it will just grow back quite quickly.

Had my 1st service today, and dealer cleaned & painted the cross brace FOC. Not sure what they used exactly but any additional protection had got to be better than none at all. Right?

after all the discussions on the state of the underneath of the f types, I believe jaguar will probably do nothing to help owners, so I went down the independent route and had my local car repair shop take all of the metal parts and braces that he could , got them sandblasted, powdered coated then, when back on the car, every thing was waxoiled including framework and nooks and crannies, cost £200 but well worth it for the peace of mindhttps://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/download/file.php ... ew&id=2396

Well done ! Did you spray waxoil on the 'blind' side of the bolts too [on top] ? That where water and salt gets in..

I've just bought my first F Type on Saturday. They said everything is fine with the car, even underneath. But. I guess now reading this I need to see for myself. Great 🙄

jagman4666, I agree with Alasdair63's post. Looks like you may have weeping diff seals from that picture.
