Dash lights dimmer

Morning, I noticed that the little dimmer knob for my dash lights seems to make no difference.
All the way left, bright, all the way right (which is not far) just as bright.
Can someone check and see which shoudl happen please?

Hi Well mine on a 2015 convertible is mounted vertically 12 to 6 o'clock but it certainly will dim panel lights when rolled.
I have a suspicion, not tested this morning, that it only works in the dim/dark light and not in daylight.

That's correct - The dimmer only operates in the dark.
Alternatively you can cover the sensor in the windscreen with your hand.
