The centre wheel caps on my car have started to corrode, the car is less than two years old.

I was wondering if anybody else was having this problem, I appreciate it’s a minor issue but irritating.

Thanks.

Pretty standard problem on cars
Same happened on my XF every 2 years. My Evoque is the same after 15 months.
On previous Z4 I went eBay aftermarket gel and they lasted forever

Subtle enhancements to create the car I wanted from SVR nose cone, 400 series side skirts & customised 'design' rear bumper, to heated SVR steering wheel and more

Thanks for the feedback.

Irritating if they need to be replaced every couple of years., you would think by now the manufacturers would have a solution for it.

Same thing happened to the wheel centres on my old XK's and on 2 Aston Martin Vantages. Over time I have collected 2 spare sets. The F-Type is only a week old so hope not to have to replace before 2020!

In short they are just cheap, plastic and cr@p!

Should be replaced under warranty. My Range Rover has Brembo brakes (red calipers) & I have had the rears replaced twice under warranty as the rear paint is totally different to the fronts & its c***. No problem having them changed

If you've ever replaced them, you'll know they're not cheap! ;)

Yep I know - they are made from cheap materials and for what they are they are certainly not cheap to buy!

I am going to ask them to replace under warranty.

I assume both the growler and the Union Jack caps are affected the same, if the growler was likely to be less of a problem I’d switch to them.

Hi TopCat,
Tried the red ones, green ones and Union Jack as well as the AM ones - all to the same quality I'm afraid.

Thanks, probably stay with the UJ’s, it’s crazy that they can’t produce a centre cap that doesn’t corrode, I also have a 2006 c class, same centre caps from new and no sign of corrosion.
