My wife has an early Evoque using the Gen2.1 system and our alarm installer says he can retro fit an interface to allow her to have car play etc. The 2.1 system in my F Type 2014 is almost the same as hers but lacks a couple of features, so may be able to have it installed also. Has anybody had experience of this on earlier models ? The company is in Sittingbourne, Kent and quotes £700 for the work.
Cheers

I saw something on one of the F-type Facebook groups recently that allowed a retro fit system. There was a demo video and TBH it looked superb. I’d definitely have been looking into it more if I didn’t already have CarPlay.

I can’t for the life of me find the post now....

Sorry!

Found it!

It was posted on the F-Type Owners Club page on 27th Nov.

It was discussing this set up:

Good find!

That does look good as it doesnt seem to involve taking the touchscreen module apart by the looks.. Anyone fitted it yet? Do you have a link for the thread.

Thanks, I guess my guy is doing something similar to this. Price is about the same too. I thought it was alot of money, but seems to be about right. If anyone wants to follow up it's Enhance security systems in Sittingbourne, Kent.

He said Jaguar is going to do nowt for us, so sometimes you have to get creative.

Think he’s going to post a video on how he did it soon.

Here’s another link for the Jaguar F-TYPE IAM 2.1 audio integrated Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

Send an email to sales@NaviPlus.com.au for more specific questions as they will have the most up to date details.

Cheers again, looks like it does a job. TBH i am not keen on buying from Australia in case there are software or technical issues that need resolving. The cost is roughly the same as I can have a system fitted by an audio specialist local to me. So if I do it I think thats the way i will go. Just got to make up my mind if I want it enough to spend £700. I can Bluetooth music across and the sat nav works ok, not the best but it gets me there. hmmmm ! Thats why I was looking for anyone that has done it to see if it will tip me over the edge to get it.

Yes, if you do it perhaps it's better to have a system fitted by your local audio specialist just in case something goes wrong?

I included the email link sales@NaviPlus.com.au in case you needed to ask some specific questions about the Jaguar F-TYPE IAM 2.1 audio integrated Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

I haven't done it on my car and I'm content with the existing system. I mostly listen to the DAB radio (numerous presets), have a shed full of music on the USB stick, and the sat nav works fine.

The quick rundown (including step by step photo instructions) that I posted earlier was done by Richard Palmer on the Facebook F-Type Forever Car Club and there are plenty of replies to his post. Not sure if you're a member of that group but it could be worth you having a look at his post to help you decide?
