On our road trip from the south coast to Chester we unfortunately picked up a nasty chip in the front bumper, I heard the crack as it hit, I thought one of the windows had cracked, it was so loud!

It’s so annoying, I had an XE before and not one chip or incident, but we are lower to the battlefield now!
Thanks SCM, I’ve got Shine coming out in the New year to lick it back into shape. I impressed with a 600mile road trip, mainly A & B roads, I achieved
31.7 MPG with some spirited driving 😉

I wouldn't go for a smart repair for that, you may end up with a large area of paint that may be softer than the rest. I would just carefully fill the chip with touch up paint, I bet nobody (except you) will every see it.

I agree with Backfire, live with it for a couple of years and have the front resprayed

You’re lucky that the debris which caused the chip didn’t hit the headlamp or windscreen!

The chip could easily be touched up (DIY) as you may get other chips in that area. If you’d prefer a more professional finish your SMART repairer is the way to go.

Not sure if you know but Jaguar do their own SMART repairs.....they’ll probably be more expensive though? https://www.jaguar.com/owners_internati ... pairs.html

'ChipsAway' are also good SMART repairers https://www.chipsaway.co.uk/local-car-body-repairs/

Could be worth getting a few quotes to compare with ‘Shine’.
