Car still hibernating but thoughts turning to 2023 F-Type activities. MOT & service, plus rear diff oil change, booked in for March. First ever detail arranged for end of March. Excited to see how much better paintwork can be prior to first big meet of year. Few others car shows on calendar. Trip to SW Motorsports to spec possible half-cage & false floor. Lots to look forward to especially meeting fellow owners 👍

Very nice looking car. What are your thoughts on the VAP springs on ride and handling?

Don’t drive car hard enough, often enough, or possess technical knowledge, to give a useful answer 😄 Certainly feels more planted & on Michelin tyres too, which help. Car drives great on road, no adverse effects. Drops car by 22mm each corner.

I’ll start with the anniversary event at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon Warwickshire on Saturday April 1st and go from there. There’s been a few posts on here already about it so should be a fab day! 👍

Great looking car mate!! 😎

Really like the front grill! Was it a bugger to do? Expensive? That’s something I’d like to do I reckon…

Any advice / pointers on where to source etc?

Cheers,
Stuart.

Hello Stuart,

Thank you 🙏

I purchased the grill a few years ago from Jaguar. Was fairly straightforward transaction but was asked for a P7 VIN.Grill & surround was £670.00ish. To fit it the nose has to come off. A bodyshop did the work, to them quite straightforward.

AFAIK obtaining the OEM product is, now, quite difficult. I think JLR have cottoned on to owners wanting this modification. However some owners have gone another route using a standard grill surround, filled & painted, along with an E-Pace grill, which fits the F-Type perfectly.

If you do a ‘P7 Grill’ search you should find a couple of posts detailing the method.

I know three owners who’ve done this, including two SVR’s. All look OEM quality & would be the route I’d be inclined to take.

Good Luck 👍

Thanks a lot for your reply Darren.

I did a few searches and indeed it has came back with the OEM being a bit of a PITA to obtain.

The E Pace option sounds good to me though.

I want to do something about the front, as the outer surround is the only Chrome bit on mine. So might as well make it look cooler when going to the effort you know!

I’ll have a search to see if I can find the “how to” thread or that, to do the E Pace version.

Thanks again.

Stuart.
