If my schoolboy French is up to it, there's only one battery in the 2017 models so no specific battery to support stop/start. Certain conditions have to be met for the stop/start system to function - these should be listed in yoiur vehicle's handbook.

My 2016 v6 convertible has one battery only.
Start/ stop doesn't work. I've owned it for 2 months.
Jaguar specialist says battery is not from Jaguar and has only a 47% charge. He suggests i charge it for a few days and see if that fixes it. If not, then fit a Jaguar battery. We'll see...

I had similar issue but battery was good and all conditions were ok. Was on 2017 v6s. Didn’t work for 3 months since i purchased

Sent in to Jaguar dealer who fixed with some setting/reset. Didn’t need any new parts! Fortunately under warranty

Has been working correctly ever since

So must be some form of software feature

The Stop/Start is one of the first thing that gets disabled, even when the battery is only down a bit. At 47% I would expect to see a low battery warning on the dash anyway.

Jaguar don't make batteries, so that's a bit of an odd comment. The OEM ones have a Jaguar sticker but also say 'made by exide' etc'. I think the battery should be a 019 95Ah AGM/EFB. Check the label in case someone has put a normal lead acid, non AGM/EFB, in there.

See what charging the battery does. Also check that the hazard warning switch goes dark within 10 minutes when you double lock the car. If this stays lit, the car isn't shutting down completely, causing a battery drain.

You say that like it's a bad thing! A lot of people disable theirs. But as others have said, make sure your battery is fully charged before you try diagnosing faults as these cars (like most modern performance cars) demand a lot of volts to perform without random glitches. And as there's no such thing as a Jaguar battery just make sure you get the right one (from any manufacturer) that meets or exceeds the requirements and you should be good to go. If you get it from Tayna, use the 5% discount code from the "number 27" Youtube channel. ;)

It is a bad thing if it doesn't work. :) I seem to belong to a minority but I for one think that it's a good feature and would be rather annoyed if my car kept idling at red lights.

Et bienvenu kakou!

I've read various articles that it's OK to use stop/start, but I still don't quite believe there is zero extra wear on starter - and engine as the oil stops circulating. Probably me being over cautious but I don't use it.
