I’m no expert but maybe it’s to do with timing in the month?

Multicar (Vauxhall Mokka-X and my V6s Coupe). Aviva last year was £650. Renewal due end of Aug is £789.
So I shopped around on Sunday and LV quoted me £576 !! Go figure?
Same cars, same excess, same protected NCB, same everything.

I’ve now gone with LV.

On a side note I wanted to give Aviva a chance to make a better deal, what a pain in the rear to speak to them, Chat bot, chat link, online inquiry form etc….I just want to speak to a bloody human. Gave up and cancelled renewal.

Ps My mum who passed away a few years ago now was an insurance broker in the 1970s/80s. She always said that insurance companies are biggest thieves out there!

Only issue with LV is that they steal your no claims bonus - I had about 12 years when I joined them a about 6 years ago, when I left a year ago with no claims made I only had 9 years no claims as they say that is the maximum they give - but some other companies accept more!

Maybe that’s something to do with most online insurance quote forms only having an option for “9 or more years” NCB ?

Been with Admiral for over 20 years. Last year it was £850. Now they want a whisker under 1400. No changes at all from last year in terms of the policy.
GoCompare say the AA will do it for 820 so I think a weekend on the phone is in order.

So much for customer loyalty unless they can miraculously match it.
To follow up

After a phone call to Admiral they kindly knocked off £150 so that would have only been a 50% increase to £1260!
Thanks but no thanks.
Went to the AA for £870 with a few add-ons. Happy with that, basically £20 more than last year.

Think yourselves lucky. I paid £548 last year. As I have hit a birthday milestone the cheapest I could find this year was £1200. I do not have a choice due to my age, but as I am very fit and healthy I am not ready to give up my beautiful car yet.

I think the EV owners are also paying, judging by the comments on the i-Pace forum I follow! It seems they're much harder, and more expensive, to repair (the EVs not the owners!), assuming the parts are even available.

Maybe they think you're not such a good driver if you're scared to get the 550. Which MY are you looking at?
