MajorTom wrote: Sun Feb 04, 2024 10:10 am Dynamic wing mirror indicators are a brilliant little mod. Cheap, looks great and makes the indicators brighter and more visible. That's one of the first mods I did to my F-Type and I actually carried them over from my last XF.

Being able to keep some mods is a nice feature of moving from one modern Jaguar to another. :) Apart from the indicators I also carried over my solid aluminium paddles and some interior LED lights.

Rob, speaking of lights - take close look at the intensity of the DRLs in the headlights. As you may have seen in other threads it's a very common issue with MY18 cars that the DRL loses intensity on the (UK) passenger side and I've also seen cases of later cars with that issue.
Many thanks I'll do that. What interior lights have you replaced? Is there a way of activating or changing the ambient light to suit the car mode as you can in the newer XF?
Regards

Rob
I replaced the OEM weak yellowish footwell lights with ice blue LEDs and the door courtesy lights with super strong white LEDs. There's a lot of aftermarket logo door courtesy lights for the F-Type and I've tried a few but they all seem a bit rubbish and fade after some time.

Configurable interior lights is an option. You always get the standard ice blue which goes red when you switch to dynamic mode. I have the configurable option but find it rather pointless because the default ice blue colour anyways is the best and even if you change it to something else, some parts like buttons will still be illuminated in ice blue.

Hi relaxitscool,

Welcome to the forum.

To answer some of your questions:
2. Re auto dipping headlights, even if this can be activated, I wouldn't bother. My car has it as standard but I find I prefer to do this manually. A more useful (IMO) activation is the dual zone climate, so the passenger can't complain about the temperature you like! LR Retrofits, as already mentioned by Major Tom, can do this. It's worth looking at their website to see what all they can do. A heated steering wheel can be retrofitted, with the addition of an adapter which plugs into the existing loom;
3. My car is pre android auto, but I found using Bluetooth to play music from the phone wasn't very successful. Having music on a USB stick works much better.
5. I think the Jaguar Incontrol app with the remote start feature is essential if your car is parked outside and you intend to use it in winter. Otherwise the windows freeze, won't come down and the door is difficult to open, then it won't close! The subscription for this isn't expensive. I can't remember exactly but it's about £30/year. Personally, I don't use any other connected services, as I don't feel the standard satnav package is all that good/updated frequently. I'd be interested to hear other folks' opinion.

Hope this is useful. No matter which options you have or don't have, driving the car as is will keep a constant smile on your face.

Many thanks for that advice, I assumed it was duel zone climate control given there are two controls! That's taking options to another level!
Has anybody purchased / can you buy the software to activate these options or do you have to go to a specialist?

I assume the interior LEDs are straight replacement and are readily available? Sounds like a plan.

I think I’m right in stating that dual zone climate control only comes with the optional “Cold Climate Pack” which includes a heated windshield, heated steering wheel, and two-zone Climate Control. That is certainly the case with all facelift models.

Strangely, mine came with heated screen, but not the other two. If dual zone isn't activated, both knobs will always display the same temperature. If it is, you can set it to both be the same or each side individually adjusted.

LR Retrofits activated my Dual Zone Climate remotely. Talk to Mo there, he's very helpful. I retrofitted a heated steering wheel myself.

Mine was the same, so I had dual zone climate, cruise control and speed limiter, and heated (flat bottom) steering wheel added.

Mo can also programme the 400ps Sport tune to a V6 should you wish, as the 340ps especially is software limited on output, with no mechanical difference to the engine. Not done that with mine but you get the comfort of the Jaguar tune specification.

Some great pointers here, thanks everybody. Although it sounds costly I'm quite looking forward to personalising the car.

Cheers

Yep, and in the interior it's only the footwell lights you need to replace. I just used the ones I had in my XF. The map reading lights are already LED.
