No you don’t the base wiring harness is the same threwout the models some have extra wires for extra features but other then that they are plug and play go straight in just need the switches with in I brought I know this as I’ve already fitted them.
I know this as I researched it and then went to Jaguar direct to purchase parts as they know cause they instal them as an optional upgrades.
And they will require no programming at all.
My standard seats I removed had 2 less wires in one plug and 1 in another that’s the wires that change the settings for the new switches.

As I said I stand to be corrected and happy. Makes the conversion much more feasible.

Considering how many units there are they are a pretty solid engine. The cranks on the v6 diesel are rubbish but an engine failure on these is rare. Not impossible though.

I did Google it and didn't find much apart from the common injector stuff. You can't really judge engine reliability from how many people offer services on eBay. I appreciate you've had a bad experience but you can't just say they're a crap engine because you've had a bad time

They are crap I didn’t say that did I, there unreliable and the fuel pump that also works as a oil pump is shocking and fails, the cracks are terrible it’s a common fact all JLR specialists will tell you that along with conrods . I’ve owned 7 range rovers and 3 jaguars I know the engines very well
Like I said some are good some are shocking that’s just a simple fact it’s pot luck what you get. I had a bad one unfortunately in this car. And was very well maintained regularly

Thanks for the chat yesterday Syd.

These are great seats in brand new condition, with heating, cooling, full electric adjustment, side bolster adjustment, and memory on the door switch packs.

I’m only passing due to the differing colours and stitching I’d end up with, making the cabin look a little odd.

I had the same engine issue - the main shell bearings don’t have an indent to locate them and that makes them more susceptible to being spun.
I was very lucky that my dealer at that time pushed JLR hard and I got a £15k new engine fitted under extended warranty, even though the engine had 70k miles on it.
I bet you’d have zero chance of that happening now!

Good luck with the sale and let us know what you get next!

Thank you for that
It would be nice but unfortunately they won’t do anything about it on warranty. I’m debating a f pace svr but we will see once mine has gone.
