Are there any model years that are particularly have better exhaust noise than others ? I am talking V8 engine cars.
Sure I ready somewhere that later cars did not sound as good.

The later V8 cars are fine, just take out fuse 15

Later cars didn't sound as loud. Good rather depends on your perspective!

My facelift V8 with fuse 15 pulled sounds good enough.
Any louder and it'll be into "listen at that knob head" territory

Mine is MY16 and it is a bit knobhead with the valves open. I pulled fuse 15 to experiment and promptly dropped it on my gravel driveway and so it's staying like that till I get round to getting a new one!

I do love it but occasionally in traffic when you come off the throttle in second it'll explode in a cacophony of machine gun fire which is a bit embarrassing. I still love it though.

My 2023 V8 is loud enough that I have papp'd (video'd) by the kids that are obsessed with supercars, around Alderly Edge. I have been clocked 3 times in 3 visits, so it must sound OK. Mind you, It is usually from behind, because they don't know what the car is as it approaches (or it isn't an Urus or Lambo/McLaren/Fezza/etc supercar) and it's only the exhaust sound that makes them realise it's a little bit nicer than a Honda Civic (Vtec for the win )
