You think someone test driving a very low mileage F-Type would worry about running it in?

No I don't but test drives are accompanied and around a predesignated route. Rare these days cars are handed out for 24 hours to thrash around in and although there are running in limitations, they are minor compared with days gone by as manufacturing tolerances are so much better.

A 'manager' car worries me much more than a demo. as they treat them like a basic commodity.
I've owned many of both variants..

The car under discussion concerns me far more of the ongoing servicing or possible lack of

OK, guys; once again I thank you all for your help however it looks like the search must go on!

Good job I have patience……I need it after nearly thirty years with the current Mrs Madpig!

Good job she’s not on here other I might get berated for the word “current”🤣🤣🤣

I will keep looking……

I agree with simpleR that this has been a demo car as held 6 months then in effect a PDI check to sell. I don't have issues with demonstrators per se as frankly it's low mileage and fairly gentle driving.

MOT history looks clean

I'd make a call to Senior Cars and ask if they have a full annual itemised service history to date inc. all the extra works due such as spark plug change. If so send you some photos of the 6 overdue services. If not avoid any pain and walk away, but I do expect the owner has serviced it at an indy garage.
After a load more searching (nothing else in my price region yet) I thought I might take your advice and ask Senior cars whether the car has fully documented service history. As the advert once said, what’s the worst that can happen; they say no and I walk away or they say yes and I’ll ask for proof. Worth a shot as they are not too far away from me….

At what mileage / service should it have new timing belts and how expensive are they?

You guys really are the best….

From memory 9 years for the aux and supercharger belts and 10 years for transfer and diff oil. I’d say £1k for each of those but less at an Indy.
Best is to ask the seller for the VIN then go to the Jaguar OSH and look at your specific year and model service requirements.

Great, thanks very much; that’s pretty dear especially if you’ve just forked out nearly £28k for the car.

However, at the moment they haven’t even bothered to come back to me but it is Sunday so let’s see what happens tomorrow…..

Well…..I had a response yesterday albeit in the afternoon.

They said that it only has partial service history but and I quote “it’s been kept in excellent condition and definitely worth a look.”

As they are only about 90 mins drive from me I’m going to have a gander at it on Saturday.

Apart from the obvious things what else should I be looking for please?

Is there any way of visually checking the belts mentioned above?

Any suggestions please?

I’d ask them to send copies of the service work done and avoid a potentially wasted drive.
The belts need changing by age regardless of visual condition.
Other points are just per any other car that it’s straight, paintwork and wheels not damaged. Check seat bolsters for wear and all electricals work. Sticky buttons on some.
Tread on tyres, scored disks, etc.

I hope you're not falling into the trap of getting desperate waiting.

Unless I've missed something this car has no documented service history since November 2018 and has done over 21k miles in the 6 years since.

I'd want to see evidence of exactly what has been done to the car in that time before contemplating leaving home. From what you've said before about service history being so important I'm pretty sure that you would too.
